NativeSD Roms for the Nexus One

Postby tommypacker » Thu Oct 10, 2013 1:18 am

Here's a thread for discussion about getting a rom to install and boot on the sd-ext. Right now I followed steps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37944478&postcount=37, but it's not installing and giving me this error
line 216 col 14449: unknown function "retouch_binaries"

Edit 1: So now it installs to the sd-ext, but when I reboot, it boots right back into the bootloader (Also, the touchscreen doesn't work on the aroma)

Edit 2: Aroma Touch now works and I flashed a second rom onto my nand and installed the sd-boot.apk and tried switching to the sd rom but it booted into the nand rom. I am currently testing the initrd-sc.gz after the first one failed (initrd-s.gz)

Could this guide possibly be useful? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=594077

Hopefully people can help me out!

Ok so I removed the touch binaries line under symlinks and now it's starting to extract files...

Are you able to use sboot partition? On hd2, we use the flash_sboot_v2 script to put a NativeSD boot.img to sboot partition, and then boot from that. This could explain why it reboots to your nand rom.

Edit; looking at flash_sboot_v2, mkbootimg.sh seems to create a boot.img at an address of 0x11800000, this address might be different on N1, not sure. The updater script then installs it to sboot.

Yes, N1 has different address. It should be 0x20000000.

So I edited the flash_sboot_v2 script, but I'm getting this error in the recovery log. Seems if I'm missing the sboot partitionscript

It might be better to forget sboot for now and just get it booting from a nativeSD boot.img in your normal location.
Sboot is for dual booting nand and NSD.

Alright, but I'm currently running into the issue of the phone booting right into the bootloader and not into the nand rom. Not quite sure what to do now...

If it installed ok, perhaps you can install a nand rom but with the boot.img replaced with your new initrd.gz and the zImage (packed as boot.img if necessary). Hopefully it will boot the NSD rom on your sdcard.
