Looks like it should work to get back from the mfg spl to hspl2.08
But I am still unsure of the benefits of the mfg spl, afaik android needs 2.08
But you are right to work out how to recover safely before experimenting
BTW half way through DL

Edit; it finished DLing, but my AV software quaranteened it.
Am uploading to dev host but their AV might not like it.
Edit; here you go http://d-h.st/ox8 take care AV said infected with ws.reputation.1 see http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-I ... d-p/232155

I am pretty sure my AV didn't like it because i rarely DL RUUs, and RUUs themselves could be seen as a 'dangerous' file. The link i gave says something about a dispute procedure. i can dispute it and see what they come back with.
Edit; i sent the report. It included the rapidshare link, so expect at least four hours before any reply from them

Finally I have a mfg based spl bootloader. I will send it someone on xda who has jtag when I have free time. It is tmous 0.66 based, but I changed its version 2.08 for removing/replacing it with shipped one via Cotullas HSPL3+ tools.

If Cotullas unhspl processes work with it, we have a new FULLY unlocked spl for clk only. I will try to port magldr later.

Final stage, I will try to modify Cotullas HSPL3 tool for its original version number; 0.66.

I hope it works:)
