1566mhz cpu overclock kernel

Postby Delibit » Sun Mar 08, 2015 3:56 am

Could someone, maybe tytung himself plz update the ics and jb roms to be compatible with extended overclocking.
Dorimanx used to puplish roms/kernels with this option in the froyo/hc days after wich he got a new device, stopping his work for hd2 device.

It always worked flawless for me and has me thinking there is even more room.
I dont understand it so I have to ask others. Ile mail Dorimanx this tread perhaps he will aid.

Kind regards

Ps I love tytung work but currently use slimkats jb rom because of its dark screen theme for use in dark enviroment...

Is it really faster? Have you tested it?

A fast sd card to put a native sd rom on will give the biggest performance boost.
Alone with tweaking the sd cache size.
Overclocking can improve that.

Roms have continued to get bigger and bigger.
The hd2 main problem is the lack of ram ,not lacking cpu power.

There is also a mod included by some cookers wich has the overclocked state on for booting.
It does reduce boot time but dont forget the battery.
Some replaced the default battery with an extended one to fix that.

I personally wonder if an older android version with a theme app could unload my device without loosing compatibility.

Have you tested it? I mean, the clock above 1190 MHz. Is it really faster?

It really did work.
Hence the oc boot version wich came later really does boot faster.

And its actually 1620mhz. Wich doubles the cpu seening that wm6.5 os limited to cpu to 800mhz when it wasnt plugged in.

How did you test it? I'm curious because I heard that any clock rates higher than 1190 MHz were fake. Did you compare the boot times of the OC boot when you set the clock rate to 1190 MHz and higher?

It took say 10 seconds of the boot time.
Its genuine.

In the wm6.5 Days there was also an oc app wich let you set 1200 and even 1600 something with the 1200 real and the high one a bug in the app. Wich was also around 1600.

You can google dorimanx+hd2 and find tons of links with xda probably very first.
Other people have tried to nativesd his rom.
I once tried one but it had bugs from the conversion. Woudnt install or boot. Potentionally my mistake.
Maybe that is fixed now. Its been a year since.

Finding his rom shoudnt be a problem.maybe even an nativesd one that works.
He always posted his kernels sepparately aswell.

His rom where always based on tytungs work.

Again, all out of my head but i have no doubt it worked.
The battery also drained faster ;)

He always poster benches as he does with his new devices.
Try www.dorimanx.com for his current work.
He dropped hd2 from his site though.

Do you mean booting with 1620 MHz is 10 seconds faster than booting with 1190 MHz?

That is what i ment, yes.

Dorimanx at the time let know on the xda tread that he added code to his kernel that allowed certain cpu speeds to be used by android.
He could have gone past 1620mhz if he wished.
For every speed step he also had to select an vcore, the voltage the cpu then got fed.

I know of app that allow you to select vcore for available cpu steps.
Never heard of saw of anything of creating new cpu speed steps.

I have mailed dorimanx for any input regarding the topic but he hasnt yet mailed back.

Ps isnt github where they post all codings?
