Is that true? I didn't do that. Maybe I forgot it but it doesn't seem right to me because when I purchased my phone there was some battery already. That means it's already charged so even if I charge it right away after the purchase it will not be a first charging anymore. This is bothering me sometimes. Does anybody know about this?
For modern batteries that is a myth. That recommendation from sellers was true for old batteries, and it seems they still keep saying it!
The Lithium-Ion or Lithium-Polymer and such batteries (as I have read many times and based on my own experience) would be stronger if you charge them often. The first time charging and "wait-until-full-discharge-before-recharge" and "don't-use-when-charging" are not applicable to these modern batteries.
Li-Ion and Li-Polymer batteries, if charged often, after about 1 month, would reach to their maximum performance, and you would be best served to charge them every time you find an outlet.
