I saw the phone block thing mentioned on nearly every geek and tech site I frequent. How do you convince manufacturers to agree on a standard that frankly looks unattractive? With the added financial disincentive of being an open standard that none could charge royalties for?
It's a Utopian idea and like most that have come before unlikely to materialize.
