This could make a big difference to everyone located in the USA who has an older device, from HD2s to Nexus 4s to iPhones, etc. especially in rural areas with weak coverage. It would allow calls to be made and received over Wi-Fi, transparently, even when cell signal is not available, similar to some of the other existing VIOP products which have to be manually enabled each time.
