Hi soren,

Got it going for the NAND + EXT4 v4.5 - but perhaps only just. Much obliged.

In the end, one's HD2 will only allow the NAND partition up to 350MB, 400MB being no go with a 300MB NAND partition being inadequate for a NAND v4.5 install. Being itchy fingers, perhaps will try a manual NAND partition to see where the max size lies. Are the LEO 512MB NAND so limited or is my HD2 NAND slowly dying off. When installed in NAND, the DSP and ringtones came back. tytung's ROMs are AOK. Gave life back to the HD2.

Cheers

Sounds like you are using some tool which limits your partition size. You can do more manually.

Keep in mind that your NAND size is fixed. If you allocate too much to the cache or some other partition you take space from system.

You do not need much of a cache partition nor data partition since you are using the SD card.

The reason you likely need a large system partition is probably bad blocks in NAND which happens with age.

You will get better performance from a Class 6 card than a Class 4. A UHS I card *may* give you problems as the HD2 was designed too long ago.

You *really* don't need to do that. You will wear out your NAND for no real benefit.

I forgot to tell you that if you use HD2 NAND Toolkit and select 400 MB as the system partition size, you should set the cache partition size (cache size) to 5 MB. If you do it manually, the maximum size is little above 400 MB for HTC HD2 (512 MB ROM).

My memory is probably hazy now, at best, but didn't the toolkit also use flash.cfg which could be manually altered?

It does. I haven't tried it, but it should work.

Just a simple problem.

Hi NYL+Soren,

Your advice is much appreciated. I repartitioned the NAND with the HD2 NAND Toolkit MAGLDR "default" cache of 45MB, which is probably why I could not get a 400MB NAND partition!! Yes, a plonker indeed. Might give it a go and do the NAND partition [400+5cache] properly over the wekend but whatever it may be, V4.5 is excellent. Way better mobile signal than WP7.8 Pdaimatejam 7.10.8862.144 v8.9 This truly gave new life to the HD2 which I was going to bin [because selling it to the sharkos is worth only £4.00 it seems !!] Now my spoilt kiddo may have it - after he'd killed everyone in his gaming. If you guys are going to have kids, don't let them go near a gadget. They are SATANIC to say the least which is why after the crash of Da Dollah [Reserve currency plunder], gadgets in "The West" are going to double/treble in price - and soon at that - perhaps even early next year. Start hording precious metals.

NYL, my current process is now only Task29(Wipe) > MAGLDR 1.13 > and tytung's CWM 5.0.2.6 folders [using BOTH because I do not know which is working, 5026_leo_CWR or 5016_leo_sd ] sitting at the mSD FAT32 partition. That new blue background CWM Recv 5026 is great when compared to the archaic CWM Recv 1.3

Cyanogenmod have released their M7 build (android 4.4.2)! Maybe once ported this will be more stable than v4.5
