This is for anyone interested in using DataOnEXT with DalvikOnNAND for v4.6. Download the attached initrd.gz, open the v4.6 ROM's installation zip in WinRAR and drop this initrd.gz in \boot\boot_NAND_with_DataOnEXT (overwriting the one in the zip file at this location).

Important Note - I won't recommend this mod for EU512 users. You will not have enough free space in NAND to host the Dalvik Cache there. I have a 350 MB system partition in NAND, and have only 569 MB left in what would be NAND's /data normally. After doing a DalvikOnNAND modification, and with only 10 apps installed, my Dalvik's size is 330 MB - not viable for EU512 devices. TMoUS foks, knock yourself!

If you want to know what is DalvikOnNAND, head over the the DataOnEXT thread in XDA...

Is it OK only to install it over ?
Thanks

Yes. But you should create a backup first.

Do you use a UHS-I card?

No it's an old SD card of the normal type.

interested why you chose 3.03 hspl instead of 2.08, also it seems you used the patcher script instead of using the dataonext option in aroma.
check your battery pins have good contact.
Not sure if recovery partition should be 6mb for that recovery version.
Have you checked md5sum of your download.
Can't think of anything else for now.

I used 3.03 hspl because it's supported by cLK and since it's a larger version number I assume it's better. I don't know anything about Linux and Android, I just follow instructions I find on the internet, make some assumptions and hope for the best!

I chose the dataonext option in aroma, but some website mentioned running that patcher script, so I ran it after the aroma install...

Battery pins are good.

md5sum of download was good.

Thanks to everyone who sent suggestions on speeding up the installation on my wife's phone. I found out what was causing the mobile to run slow / hot / killing the battery. I installed Link2SD and as soon as I created a symbolic link I got all these symptoms. I removed the link and deleted the script in init.d and the mobile runs much better now. Still slow compared to my Huwawei Ascend G300 u8815 but not bad. It's usable now.

If anybody has more tips to speed up this mobile I'd be grateful.

would ART on NAND be possible? if so would it take up less space than dalvik, for us EU users? ;)
Or possibly NativeSD with ART on NAND
Or just NativeSD with Dalvik on NAND?
HTC HD2 (EU)
SPL 2.08. HSPL3;
Magldr 1.13 thanks bepe & Cotulla
On NAND - WP7.8 pdaimatejam v8.8 thanks to pdaimatejam, DFT, YukiXDA, xboxmod etc
On SDcards - Numerous Android SD builds & NativeSD ROMs (Thanks boonbing, Xylograph, securecrt & Almighty tytung!)

You can use SetCPU and set the maximum frequency to 1190 MHz.

I think Dalvik and ART use the same path. ART uses more space.

Yup, ART and Dalvik use the same dalvik-cache, but ART uses roughly 30% more space than Dalvik. With a 350 MB /system (on NAND), you will be left with little space on a EU512 that DalvikOnNAND will not be possible.

I have not explored DalvikOnNAND for NativeSD - that is a good thought, let me dig. I haven't used a NativeSD ROM at all until now - can someone tell me what exactly will be in the NAND on a NativeSD setup - just the boot and recovery? Or can users optionally have a ROM too (in addition to the NativeSD ROMs)?

with cik, usually there is only sboot.img and recovery on nand
with magldr, NativeSD roms are usually booted from ad sd (from sd card) and installed using an sd recovery. So there is nothing on nand (hence can have wp7 there)
with haret, nothing android is in nand too.
users can have a nand android rom and have nativeSD roms using both clk (sboot, tboot etc) and magldr

On latest version the camera shutter sound is not working and I can't find the setting. Does anyone know how to turn the shutter sound on?
