I was just wondering if anyone has tried using the internal memory as a swap partition? I don't know about you, but my hd2 is constantly running out of RAM. I then came across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=2145133 and thought that using native SD and dedicating all the internal as SWAP might be a solution. Any thoughts? I've been following the HD2 thread since the days of Win6.5, but I'm not very knowledgeable about the whole thing so this may be a complete brain fart...

Hi. It is possible in theory. With aMagldr, we only can format yaffs2 to our nand memory. (And raw of course)

If yaffs2 can work instead swap partition, you can add a new nand yaffs2 partition with modifying DFT DAF's flash.cfg file and you can modify your favorite swap init.d script for yaffs2 instead swap and adressing to nand instead sd.

I am not familiar with the method you mentioned but if you would like to try swap it is easy enough to put it in and take it out so you can judge yourself based on results. Try defiant07's swap with a swap file first (on your sd card, ideally, in an ext4 partition) which is easy enough to remove if you don't like it. If you decide to keep it running you can place the swap to a dedicated swap partition on your sd card later.

While reading various forum posts and guides, I managed to install 10.2 reasonably well with a the 250 MiB CWM. First install I did however, lots of things kept FCing even during the initial setup, redoing it (and wiping everything inbetween) made that the initial setup worked fine, the homescreen runs smooth, but opening the browser closes it immediately, going to the menu screen, closes it immediately. Going to settings seems to work and the menus there are scrollable and accessible.
Anybody else experienced that? I tried going to cm 7, but magldr keeps complaining that it can't run the kernel, so kinda have to make 10.2 work

So I'm guessing it is horribly running out of RAM. As for using swap on nand, I think that's a horribly bad idea. With the shortage of ram all ready, it will be swapping a whole lot. Swapping on the nand will wear your nand 100x faster then anything else (lots of writing). breaking a small SD card, no problem, breaking the nand, is bad business.
