This update came as fresh install or install over 4.4 without wipe...

Thanks tytung for the amazing job you have done for our beloved legendary phone.

Problem with upgrade NexusHD2-KitKat-CM11.0 V4.4 and V4.5

Postby vecchiosaggio » Sun Apr 27, 2014 6:47 pm

Hello guys,
I just can't run upgrade 4.4 or the newest 4.5, I can only perform the 4.3. I follow all the partitioning instruction but doesn't work. I also put system 300 and cache 2: in this way 4.4 and 4.5 works but appear this message "unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" and I can't go on. Where I wrong? My installation is the follow: HTC HD2 (LEO512) HSPL : 2.08.HSPL Radio : Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14 Bootloader : MAGLDR v1.13 Recovery : ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6

PS: I've already try to put system 280 and cache 2 for 4.4 but after green HTC's logo, the screen turn black and it doesn't run. For upgrade 4.5 I put system 285 and cache 2 but the problem it's the same.

Softkey Mods for V4.5

Postby agbommarito » Sun Apr 27, 2014 8:22 pm

Here is an update to the softkey mods for V4.5 of Tytung's Jellybean ROM. There are two modifications, landscape softkeys and a soft power button.

The installer ZIP file can be downloaded from this link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22856583/NexusHD2-KK_V4.5-SoftkeyMods.zip. The file is flashable from recovery. There are individual options to select the landscape softkey mod and the power button mod in any combination.

I suggest that you first install or update your phone to V4.5 of Tytung's ROM and boot it up before you install these mods. A few minutes after boot-up, go back to recovery and install these mods.

Installing the power button mod replaces the CyanogenMod navigation bar editor search button with a visible power button. After installation, you have to turn on the mod by going to Settings->Interface->Navigation Bar Buttons and layouts. Click the lock icon, then the small plus sign at the left of the navigation bar. Scroll to the power button option and click it. Finally, click the lock icon again.

With the latest Cyanogen mod features, the power button mod is not as useful as it used to be. You can go into the Settings menu, to Interface->Status bar and enable double-tap to sleep. With this feature, you double tap anywhere on the status bar and your phone goes to sleep, just like tapping the power button.

---------------------------------------------

On a different subject, here is my opinion on installation of this ROM. DO NOT attempt a NAND install. This ROM is too big and the non-volatile memory of the HD2 is too small. You may be lucky and get it to work, but you will have very little room left for applications. Instead, use DataOnExt or NativeSD. First, repartition your phone to have a 400MB system partition. Partition and format your SD card per one of the excellent guides available. Make your EXT4 partition at least 2GB. Finally, keep your expectations in check. The HD2 is a legendary device, but it is very old. By today's standards, it has a slow CPU and a very little memory. Don't expect it to perform on par with the latest flagship devices that have just been introduced.

As suggested above, i installed over v4.4 without any wipe.
The installation was successful (cLk v1.5.0 and CWM recovery 5.0.2.6)
After first boot i get this message:
Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped

when i click ok it re-appears immediately giving me only a fraction of a second to operate the phone.. it works kinda but is unusable.

Im gonna try to wipe Dalvik cache and reboot, if this doesn't work i reinstall with "wipe Dalvik cache"

Thanks Tytung for the earlier than expected update :D

:-(

Cach wipe and reinstall with dalvik cache wipe produced the same problem (Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped.)
I thought it might be the "show all non responding apps" option in "developer options". But it didn't change anything, even after reboot.

I'm going to reinstall with a full wipe now ...

Selecting full data wipe/factory reset during install didn't change anything, so i restored my 4.4 backup.
Does anybody else have that problem?

What is the size of your system partition? Resize your system partition to 400 MB. Unbelievable that I say this 3 times already on this page.
