I am trying to do DataOnExt installation method. I have prepared my sd card (made 2 GB ext4 partition).

I have HD2 International, and I wiped out my hd2, installed magldr 1.13, started 4ext recovery, started installation of your ROM, chosen DataOnExt, it installed perfectly, but when i booted from NAND in magldr, it says NO BOOT SOURCES!

With dataonext, does boot supposed to be on NAND?

I know you are tired of this, but I REALLY cannot make it work!

Thank you in advance! You can PM me. NO hurries!

Hi, please give us your partitions size, especially boot and system partitions.

At the beggining of Aroma Installer, it says System Partiton = -1MB Data Partiton= -1MB (maybe this will help you) (although, with same sort of information, I have successfuly installed with NativeSD method)

Should I make custom system partion with HD2 Toolkit? What size should I define?

You didn't create parts, this is the issue. Yes, you should make partitions on your nand memory. I suggest you for this rom:
Code: Select all
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr 5M cwm_recovery_leo.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 205M
cache ya 2M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize

And yes, you can do it via HD2 Toolkit.

    - Start your phone and select USB Flasher option on Magldr's main menu
    - Plug your usb cable both phone and PC
    - Start HD2 Toolkit from your PC and select 205MB system partition

Note: This roms original system (minimal) size is 200MB like Tytungs said before. But maybe you have bad nand block(s) on your nand memory, so 205 is ideal size I think.

Dear Tytung, thank you for this great build..
Everything I tested is working flawlessly.. There is only one thing that I would like to ask you, is it possible to smooth the transition animations? Is this build dependent or is a tweek that we can use?
I'm asking this because the transitions in the slimbean rom are really smooth, the rom itself it's slower than yours but the transitions are really smooth, I would love to see that in your build.

Either way this is a great build and the best one for daily use, wish you all the luck for this new website, and thank you for continuing making our hd2 alive.

OK, THANKS, but in installation post it says full installation requires 285.

So judging by your suggestion, I don't need full installation?

Ok...I will have it a go and I will post a feedback!

Thank you so much for your patience!

If you want to make full installation, you can make bigger system partition via HD2 Toolkit. :) I said 205 for minimal install.
Good Luck;)

SUCCESS!

i HAVE booted from NAND!

This is great! This way booting will speed up, right?

Just 2 more questions for you, and no more, I promise!!!

Yeah, in HD2 Toolkit, I can set system partition size, but how can I set boot partition size, and cache size.
And...if set all these....the rest is userdata, right? In other words, how do you define other partions on NAND?

And second question, if I want to make full installation of newest ROM, is it good enough to set for example 300 MB system partition? How about 350?
Anyways, do you suggest full installation or not?

Finally, my Android storage details says total internal storage space is 1,96 GB..which means dataonext is successfully done?

THANK YOU SOO MUCH...YOU HAVE BEEN OF GREAT HELP!

Congrats:)
#3 Yes, you succesfully installed rom with dataonext option.
#1 You need to modify flash.cfg file in HD2 Toolkit folder in Program Files folder on your computer.
#2 Yes, 290 and above is enough. If you dont need any app in full install option, you can make minimal install.

Wow, I JUST CANT BELIEVE HOW FAST THIS ROM IS!!!!

I had Android 4.0.4 completely on NAND, then i tried this rom on NativeSD, and now with DataOnExt method!

Believe me, this is madness! It works super-fast!!!! It is minimal installation for now,

I will try full install later, and post feedback here.

I would like to thank tytung for this beautiful ROM, and symbuzzer for support!

Great stuff!

Just installed this rom with DataOnExt method....full installation.
Working like a charm, tough I have one remark!

When android uses live wallpapers, then when I press recent apps softkey...it has bugs, it is blurry when I remove recent...one second background is transparent, and one second is black. How can I set it up to be always black on recent apps list?

Otherwise, everything is great!
