Re: 2 subjects : Google Now off-line and Vibration notification when sound off

I've noticed two things after some weeks of use :
- Google Now normally have an option to enable Google Now off-line. This option does not appear in Google Now settings, in my french version : do you know if there's a way to get it, or a workaround ?
- In sound settings, there's an option to force vibration on notification when phone sound is off. I can untick this setting, but it is often "self" ticked back : should that be fixed ?

Thank's !

With the last version of the rom, I always don't know how to make Google Now working in french off-line.
But my pb with the sound settings for vibration on notification seems to have disappeared : no more "self uncheck" for now.

Thank's for the advice. I will contact SFR, but I prefer keeping KK on my phone !

I am "new" in this forum :D

I have installed jan.21 version but i cant get wifi tether works...

With native i dont get errors but...pc connects to net but dont have internet, android 4.3 cant see net and android 4.2 cant get IP
With barnacle i get a error message like this: wifi file not found
With wired-tether i get, start with errors. if i open log, all are errors  so it dont work at all (do i have to configure something for HD2 in wired-tether?)

With the rest of rom i dont have problems, great work!

Change your profile in wired-tether to nexus One, it's should work for you. There 2 lines in options page of wired-tether, 1rd one is Generic for me, second is nexus One. After it you should restart allocation and try to start tethering.
Good luck)

Dex cache directory isn't writable: /data/dalvik-cache
The folder permission is wrong.

Hi tytung,
I've made a new test, as I had pbs with LowSoundFixer when connecting BT. I've changed the dex cache directory permission, as you advise me. It seems it fixes the pb (but I don't know why the dalvik cache permission is not good after fresh install). In fact, I've noticed that the file system@vendor@app@LowSoundFixer.apk@classes.dex doesn't exist before I set read/write permissions to the folder, and exist after. So I assume LowSoundFixer needs to create this file at use, and cannot due to the folder permission. I've noticed too that the folder permission cames back to no read/no write after reboot, I hope that the fact that the dex files is already created will avoid to have the pb one more time.
Hoping this analysis could help for further roms.

I changed to NexusOne profile and less error appear in log (dont work), all related with wifi driver so i tick option "WiFi-driver reload" and it finally works! Thanks!

For the error with LowSoundFixer i have moved app to /system/app and it work...

Re: V4.3 : short Feedback

Postby benlm72 » Wed Jan 29, 2014 4:24 pm

benlm72 wrote:Hi tytung,

Here is a short feedback about v4.2 :
- camcorder fixed, as mentionned
- LowSoundFixer crashes, for me on gsm outgoing call.
- SuperSU runs fine
- EasyBatterySaver doesn't always update battery percent in the notification window (but perhaps is it more an incompatibility between EasyBatterySaver and KK). And battery stats are not accessible from this app, although they are from android menu
- Battery consumption seems a little better than previous releases
- Antutu bench mark fail on GPU test
- Quadrant benchmark is always very bad on cpu test (almost two times less than JB 4.3), although my phone seems to run smoother than before.
- Wifi works fine
- When long pressing on the physical home button (I don't use sofkey buttons), it opens a window to choose app to launch. If I choose "Recherche Google", it fails. The app should probably be "Google" in the french release of the rom. Workaround : enabling userdefined actions on buttons and associating menu (windows) button with Google.
- no more way to customise sms vibration. Workaround : installing Good Vibrations and disabling vibrations in sms stock app
- Viber is always not working correctly for me, although skype or line are OK.
EDIT :
- some menus in settings (for example Buttons) are in english in the french version of the rom

Thank's for the job !

Hi tytung,
Complementary feedback with v4.3 :
- LowSoundFixer crashes on BT headset connexion (see my other post). Workaround by changing dalvik-cache folder permission
- EasyBatterySaver doesn't always update battery percent in the notification window (but perhaps is it more an incompatibility between EasyBatterySaver and KK). And battery stats are not accessible from this app, although they are from android menu. I've sent an email to the developper
- Antutu bench mark fail on GPU test : not tested with 4.3
- Quadrant benchmark is always very bad (about 600 for the phone, about 300 on cpu test) (almost two times less than JB 4.3), although my phone seems to run smoother than with JB.
- Viber is working correctly for me, with the last viber release
- some menus in settings (for example Buttons) are in english in the french version of the rom : fixed
- some glitchers with Google Maps in navigation mode, but it is worse when disabling HWA (no map)
- focal : unusable, green screen
Thank's one more time!
