iptables firewall messed up?

Postby bid » Fri Feb 28, 2014 4:58 am

could anyone look into this issue?

when i use droidwall (i always used it from before the start of time), i give 3g access to opera mini only. very limited data plan here. this used to work in pre kitkat roms. but since kitkat, the data icon doesnt turn white unless i give access to everything else.

is the problem in iptables? or droidwall? what could i do?

i am a noob

Hello, after testing this rom
Here are the little problems I saw that were alredy on previous version :
- In Data usage, I can't change Data usage cycle
- Also I can't manage to have voice recognition typing in the keyboard (the icon does nothing)

Has DroidWall been updated for KK? If not it probably will not work correctly. There are many Android components which use data and it is difficult to shut them all down without creating other issues.

Anyway, if you want, try AFWall+ which I know it's up to date. Don't worry about the icon color, just check data usage.

First of all, many thanks for the newest ROM, updates, and the great work you did.
I'm interested knowing how to take screenshots from this?
(The older versions, usually makes it by holding "Turn off button", it appears an menu, and then press "Screenshot").
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advice.

I have a question about CPU clock. Mine is working @1.19GHz and is rockstable. I would like to try even higer speeds, but this is not possible on this ROM.
@Tytung: Is it possible that you unlock higher clock frequencies with your kernel?

thx, i did exactly that. applied rules with everything blacklisted except opera mini only. and browser loads any page. tried changing the status for "all apps", same result. did you use any iptables app successfully?

Thx for questions.

1) Bootloader - I did used nor MAGLR neither CLK. I did my installation with 4extRecovery every time (choosing NativeSD installation).
2) I'm using PPP, as only this configuration is supported by NativeSD installation according to the information during the installation.

Brgds

Chris

As I brought up this issue initially: I'm using the very same approach as Chris to run KK on NativeSD. And I do neither understand why mobile data via PPP runs on KK3 but not on KK4. As KK4 only works when flashing over an initially installed/configured KK3 I do not have the chance to test mobile data in plain KK4.

I'm using clrcad/haret since ever I use Tytung's ROMs on the very same HD2 HW ... mobile data never failed.

Some users have a mobile data issue with PPP. Some users don't.

My two cents:
I had data problems with an older NexusHD2 version when I tried NativeSD. I think it was based on android 4.1.
At the beginning it was ok but then it stopped working all of a sudden. I was told back then that quite a lot of users have problems with data running NativeSD.
I never tried NativeSD again and I never had data problems with DataOnExt.

Hi golf (& chris_PL), i remember there was a problem with sd android builds and HaRET where either wifi or data didn't work (can't remember which  ). It was resolved by switching off Sense in wm before booting android. Might work.
