AWStats statistics for androidforum.tytung.com from June 24 to Oct. 1:


I setup the CloudFlare CDN in front of my server. Otherwise there will be more bandwidth to this forum.

Definitions for AWStats:

• Unique visitors:
  Number of client hosts (IP address) who came to visit the site (and who viewed at least one page).
  This data refers to the number of different physical persons who had reached the site.
  
• Number of visits:
  A new visits is defined as each new incoming visitor (viewing or browsing a page) who was not connected to your site during last 60 mn.
  
• Pages:
  Number of times a page of the site is viewed (Sum for all visitors for all visits).
  This piece of data differs from "hits" in that it counts only HTML pages as oppose to images and other files.
  
• Hits:
  Number of times a page, image, file of the site is viewed or downloaded by someone.
  
• Bandwidth:
  This piece of information refers to the amount of data downloaded by all pages, images and files within your site.
  Units are in KB, MB or GB (KiloBytes, MegaBytes or GigaBytes)

Thanks tytung, but what is a unique visitor? Is it a visitor that visits only once? Or is the visitor unique? If so how can it tell?
I would like to think that i am unique, my mum thinks so too

I guess unique visitor means an individual. It probably tells from the IP address. In that case, the actual number of unique visitors could be a little more because some visitors share the same IP address.

Anyway, congratulations on your successful website! This is the best HD2 website on the world wide web.

When recording the amount of traffic on a Web site, 'unique' generally refers to a person who visits the Web site more than once within a specified period of time. Software that tracks and counts Web site traffic can distinguish between visitors who only visit the site once and unique visitors who return to the site.

Different from a site's hits or page views -- which are usually measured by the number of files that are requested from a site -- unique visitors are measured according to their unique IP addresses, which are presumed to be like online fingerprints, and unique visitors are counted only once no matter how many times they visit the site. There are some ISPs that use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, such as AOL and cable modem providers, which use different IPs for every file requested, making one visitor look like many. In this case, a single IP address might not correctly indicate a unique visitor.

I have been trying hard to forget my "exciting" ISP background and only revived it for the moment. We now return all you unique visitors to our regularly scheduled unique program.
