This is the Q&A and Troubleshooting topic for NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.2 ROM development.

Any questions about how to install and upgrade this ROM should be post here.

The recommended upgrade steps are as follows.

1. Backup your current system and data using Recovery.
2. Flash a new ROM (e.g., v3.1) over an old ROM (e.g., v3.0) as usual . (Wipe Dalvik-Cache only, default value)
3. Enjoy the new ROM. (If anything goes wrong, restore your backup in the step 1 using Recovery.)

Recoveries for HD2:

• ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.26 (NAND, SD)
• Recovery_4EXT v2.2.7 (NAND, SD)
• EXTENDED TWRP v2.6.3.0 (NAND, SD)

Special Recovery for NativeSD only:

• NativeSD Touch Recovery v1.0

Hi Tytung. I'm glad to find your new NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.2 rom. I use your NexusHD2-JellyBean 4.1.2-4.2.2 for a long time (haret nativesd). Please, explain how to change rom name of NexusHD2-JellyBean to someting else (e.g., NexusHD2-JellyBean43). I'd like to try your new rom along with NexusHD2-JellyBean 4.2.2 at the same time (/NativeSD/NexusHD2-JellyBean).

Small question - Can I update my existing Tytung rom, nand Ext4 from July 2013 with your CM10-2 or should I wipe and install from scratch

It is probably easier to use another nativeSD rom (Don't try to do it from NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.1 rom) and change /NativeSD/NexusHD2-JellyBean to /NativeSD/NexusHD2-JellyBean22 or something, then swap the same name in /sdcard/NativeSD folder BEFORE installing cm10.2 ROM
Make sure you have enough space on ext4 partition
edit; also, reading the rom thread, upgrading creates a problem with phone app, see nexushd2-jellybean-cm10-2-t78-10.html#p1344
Perhaps a new ROM_NAME for CM10.2 would have been a better solution from the start. We shall see what happens.
BTW I haven't tried this rom yet
Edit2; actually, the above wouldn't work without editing initrd.gz to boot the correct rom:oops: I know tytung used ROM_NAME as a variable outside of updater script, but afaik you would still need to edit initrd.gz.
I am having trouble with my wifi at home, so can't DL ATM, and it's late..

• /boot/ROM_NAME.prop
• /boot/boot_NativeSD/initrd.gz/init.rc

Since initrd.gz is not easy for users to edit, I have created a patch file which changes ROM_NAME to NexusHD2-JellyBean43.
Please download initrd.gz_ROM_NAME_[NexusHD2-JellyBean43].zip to replace with the corresponding files in NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.2_V3.0.zip

Will this patch file also work with updated future versions of this rom, or do you have to create a new patch file everytime?

It works for future CM10.2 versions of this ROM.

Thanks for all the awesome roms you've gifted us, for a year I'm using your roms on my hd2...but today when I'm trying to download this rom (obviously, I've been waiting for this one since I heard about the release of JB 4.3) it ain't working I click the download button, my IDM starts but it doesn't load the download (.zip) file, and I tried the last link which asks for a password, but I can't find any... I'm sure you're gonna help me, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease

Thanks for the patch tytung, working good with new ROM_NAME still exploring...
Just a reminder to ppl when re-zipping the rom zip after replacing the patch files, you should zip the rom folders (boot,custom,..., use multiselect) and not the folder itself. Else when you unzip it, you get a folder within a folder.
