NexusHD2 Android Forum

I didn't post my forum (i.e., this forum) URL in the above orange forum, and they banned my account without any notification.
They also deleted some of my posts which discussed GSM bugs in the unofficial CM 10.2 thread in their forum.
It seems that some moderators/developers/users are jealous of my successful work on my NexusHD2 CM10.2.
They just tried to manipulate the discussion content in their forum. Shame on them.

I read those posts, tytung said that he did not need to change phone.apk in his cm10.2, and suggested that if ppl had his cm10.2 rom, they try to use the (supposedly not working) phone.apk from that rom in his, proving that it works.
So no mention of tytung's site, and no active recruiting. This ban does seem very harsh, considering that other people constantly post links to other phone sites (Androidforums etc)

Your style is a bit different. They didnt give permission to me for sharing modified magldr. But you did. I think, they will lose. Hd2 is biggest device subforum of xda if I didnt remember wrong. And now, hd2's best android rom devoloper (I think) has own forum.

This forum is 2 months old. And its popularity is unbeliveable. We are 700+ members and have nearly 2000 messages from now. Our alexa rank is good from day to day. Only problem is my english:)

I'm speechless. Unbelievable that the administrators there stoop that low. I don't understand why they fear so much that the users will go to other forums if they don't care about money.

You have to assume they don't know what they are doing i.e. cutting the tree they are sitting on with such inmature and detrimental to their site's actions. Nobody likes to be treated badly and bullied around.

Since HD2 is now a pretty old phone by some standards (2009!), development and images for it have imho drifted from mainstream back into the freak sphere. Windows Mobile 6.x is dead, I think not a lot have flashed WP7 and up, best Android for HD2 now has this forum so many of the HD2 posts on xda are now just old cruft.

From my point of view as a power user, I am really really happy with the phone now as it is. HTC or Samsung should pay you 100k USD a year to build images for their phones, users would be alot happier.

Seriously, success is often feared and even shunned by some. XDA's rules of never mentioning another competing site is just silly. It is isolationism and it shows some insecurity even though this forum is not a threat to them. They are slowly suffocating the HD2 forums.

As for the "recruiting" that is likely our fault - those of us who registered here without an invitation, those of us, like myself, who offered some help, although you never asked. I am not a forum moderator by XDA's definition and my ego is not big enough to be bothered by that fact. I know who I am and what I have accomplished in the information technology field and though I may well be able to compete with their staff I have no desire or interest in the competition.

XDA will survive just fine despite some of the egos they have to live with. And this forum will survive just fine despite XDA's behaviour.

The Internet is a big place with room for lots of ideas, good as well as bad.

The whole thing reeks to me. Very heavy-handed and uncalled for. The thing is this is to their own detriment, as they are cutting off their noses to spite their face, but they (the Mods there) can't yet see it. I keep up with what's new there as I've been researching how to improve my Amaze, and on any given day there is seldom more than 3 or 4 posts. This board is now getting several times more traffic than they are, because of this I believe it will only be a short matter of time before those forums get relegated into the "legacy device" section. This is where all of the action is.

Sometimes I think about other devices forums too. For example nexus one and desire hd. And mayba a HD2 General forum for which not about directly android.
