OK gents. Although I found your fix a little difficult to accept, desperate times call for desperate measures. So on a second SD card I:

    Reformatted the partitions
    Loaded fresh OS
    Deleted dalvik cache
    Clear Battery History and
    Fixed permissions

Guess what....................nothing, wouldn't make sense if it did work.

No. I think the master himself needs to take a look at this. Mr Tytung?

Oops pressed thanks instead of quote, but since you have tried so hard, I think you deserve it :)
If it reboots on htc screen it is usually a kernel problem.

What is your system partition size? Increase it and it might fix your problem.

Which type of install?
I used NativeSD and upgraded from v2.0 to v2.1 to ..., to v2.4 and to v2.5.
I never encounter any issue.

If you need any help, please provide your install info as detail as possible.
Besides, please post your installation question to Q&A topic next time.
Otherwise, I will move your post into Q&A topic without any notification.
Paste your logcat to GitHub Gist or any similar websites, and link it in your post if you need any help. (Don't forget to tell us your HD2 setup/configuration.)

Might explain it

That explains it. I updated from V2.4 to V2.5 and the date displays fine on the lock screen. I don't use softkeys. :) It seems that this problem only occurs if the softkeys is enabled.
