Type the following adb shell command and see if the domain name (http://www.google.com) can be translated into the IP address or not.
- Code: Select all
nslookup www.google.com
At this time I had no luck to fully reproduce this bug. Mobile data and Google play works fine, but one thing is not working: Synchronization. Email app (Google app works fine) can't open connection and I can't sync any accounts: neither skype acc nor google\corporate. When I press 'Sync now' button - nothing happens. Also signal status icon doesn't change its color to blue. It stays gray.
Here is my nslookup log:
- Code: Select all
D:\adb>adb shell nslookup www.google.com
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

I've been able to access the new forum via Tapatalk 4 Beta. I entered the URL for the forum (http://androidforum.tytung.com) into the Tapatalk search box and it found "NexusHD2 Android Forums".

If the signal status icon (or WiFi icon) is changed to blue, it means that your phone is connected to the Google service.
If it's not blue, it has two meanings as follows.
1) Your phone loses the network connectivity.
2) Your phone has the network connectivity, but just cannot connect to the Google service.
Since the domain name can be translated into IP, it should be the second case.
Refraction wrote:Some interesting news about tethering:
I've reproduced steps to break mobile network. Then I've installed wifi tether 3.3-beta2. I tried to start tethering, but app threw some errors (you can find screenshots of app log in attachments). Then I turned mobile data off and then back to ON - icon became blue and apps started to work properly. But after that I couldn't start native wi-fi tether: it automatically turned off after a few seconds of work.
Hope my information can help to figure out the source of this bug.

I've integrated the landscape softkey mod with the power button mod that I previously did. When combined together, the softkeys look like this:
The attached file https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22856583/NexusHD2-JB_V2.3-SoftkeyMods.zip is flashable from recovery. There are individual options to select the landscape softkey mod and the power button mod in any combination.
