Re: Q&A and Troubleshooting for "NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.2"

Today I've finally installed this ROM and I've experienced one strange problem - I just cant start quick settings panel in order to switch on/off anything through tiles!!!

I can pull down the screen and when I touch clock or date I can start alarm or calendar apps, but when I touch right icon absolutely nothing happens!

What should I do in order to fix this problem? It's a clean install, NativeSD, PPP.

I testing v3.1 since date of release.

- smoothness: compared to v2.6 (4.2.2) is so poor. It seems like a 4.0.4 rom without hardware accel. Overall rom is very, very slow.
- camera: one time flick, second no.. Focal app not working or... flick.
- lack arrows in transmission icon - wifi gsm (CM feature?)

Where is performance from one of the best of ur rom v2.6 4.2.2 ? Quick, and very, very smooth.

HD2 EU, of course clean install, 300/5, DataOnExt, aMagldr.
Tested on two devices.

You do realize you're comparing a well tested and very mature stable ROM (CM-10.1 v2.6) against an early development release (CM-10.2 v3.1) that's built upon a snapshot of an ever changing nightly codebase that hasn't been stabilized upstream yet? You are aware of this?

If you want speed and stability you should be running another ROM. If you want "cutting edge" and to help with troubleshooting and debugging then this is the ROM to use. However, criticizing the software when it's already known to be immature is rather silly and redundant.
Current device: HTC Amaze 4G
Bootloader: HTC - Dev unlocked, S-on
Recovery: 4ext - smart flash enabled
ROM: CM-10 - Compiled and customized by me - thanks spostsstar89 - CM - Team Nightmare
Xposed framework - rovo89

Previous device: HTC HD2 (TMOUS - LEO1024)
Final ROM: NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.1.3 v2.7 - Tytung

Of course, I know! My intention was not to criticize all/always/everything.
But if i read some posts.. "is very quick and smooth" i wonder... "I use the same ROM than others?" Maybe my device is damage?

I'm fan of Tytung's rom and i know what he can do :-)

Still 3.1 on my second device for test.
For daily use 2.6.

I also have problems with Camera and Focal. When I start the Camera, sometimes it displays a blank screen and after a while Gallery has stopped. Sometimes the screen is flickering. When I played with Focal, my last 2 images got deleted. I'm reverting to V2.6.

After I flashed V2.6, it stuck at the CM screen. How to fix this?

First of all, thank you very much tytung for your work on HD2.

This is some of bugs I encountered:
-Doesn't recognize SD card.
-Why it doesn't have developer options under Setting?
-Homescreen is a bit laggy, while everything else works fast.

I am using Leo1024 T-Mobile, 400MB system and 4m cashe size NAND.
Previously using your ICS on 250MB partition size, everything worked like magic. I'll have to switch to 2.6 since is stable.

Thanks again

Please read a little more. I realize we all get impatient but much of the things you mention are operator error and documented/explained many times in the past.

I have no idea why your SD card is not recognized (perhaps format, perhaps some other issue) but it is not a ROM problem.

Developer option is there and has to be enabled by multi-tapping the build number in Settings / About. This has been documented so many times that even the quickest search would have returned your answer.

Homescreen laggy has to do with your setup / memory / partitioning mosy likely.

If you created a 400 MB partition and installed everything to NAND (which is what you seem to indicate) you have very little space left for your data partition *whichincludes cache and dalvik, among other things). You most likely cannot use a 400 MB partition unless you are using DataOnEXT install choice.

Cheers!

Are you getting this bootloop with v3.1 or did you attempt to revert to v2.6 like you said you would do in your previous post? If v2.6, did you attempt to install over v3.1? I ask because over at Cyanogen there are several posts warning that CM-10-1 can not be installed over CM-10.2. If you wish to return to v2.6 (CM-10.1) you'll probably need to do a clean reinstall.

The problem had started when I had reverted to V2.6 by flashing it over V3.1. After that I tried reverting to V3.1 but I got a boot loop. I repartitioned NAND but it was no use. However, I can boot Android now after I formatted the SD-Ext and reinstalled V3.1 ROM. This is a clean installation, so I think it will be better.
