A test of all SDHC card would seem practical ,as in to give a extended view of which brand would be most required for NAND installation. This is a ratherly costly procedure to endure so it is to be remind of the fact that some may have a quick data access ,but as for transfer a very low byte rate.

With a advice to view the market benchmark on brands ,it should be a more practical way for choosing the preferred card.

Out of experience ; I use a 32GB Sandisk Mobile microSDHC card with a 95.00 mb/s data transfer capacity ,with a NAND and DATAonEXT4 installation and has a slightly slow access but never any freeze points.

Advice:
ADATA Premier Pro 32GB data access = 94.90 mb/s.
SanDisk Extreme Pro 633x 32G microSDHC data access = 95.10 mb/s.
Silicon Power 32GB data access = 95.20 mb/s.
Kingston Ultimate 32GB data access = 96.00 mb/s.
Toshiba Exceria Type2 32GB data access = 96.20 mb/s.

I don't think that the HD2 is capable to take advantage of such fast cards because the bandwith of its controller isn't high enough. And also I had bad experiences with SanDisk UHS1 cards. They caused runtime failures and random freezes on my device.

Wizzard wrote:'Note'All cards are in the range of $100,00 !

Yes, I know the prices for such fast cards. I use 64GB SanDisk ExtremePro SDHC cards as backup cards in two of my cameras. But unfortunately CF Cards are even more expensive. :-(

Wizzard wrote:In comparison to the 32GB it is common that the 64 will run slower ,so having a 64GB card does not really speed up your system but gives you more data space. For the record......the new generation SDHC

Ok, I think you are right. Some time time ago I saw a speed comparision between different cards and the 64GB cards were always slower then the 32GB cards of the same brand.

Wizzard wrote:UHS type 2 cards are making the market ,like the Toshiba UHS II which has a access speed of 240mb/s. Nevertheless it is possible that old smartphones may not be able to use this data transfer speed due to hardware incompatibility.

It's a known fact that UHS1 cards often cause trouble with the HD2. At least with NativeSD installations. So I don't wanna even think about using UHS2 cards with my device. And I also think it doesn't make sense to use a card that is more expensive than the HD2 itself. :-)

THX a lot for your help. I decided to continue using my old 32GB card. It's fast, cheap and reliable. I should buy the same card again just for the case that my old one get's broken in the future.
Just for the records: It's a Transcend Extreme-Speed Class 10 microSDHC 32GB card for less than 20€.

I don't know if this is where I post this, so i apologize if it is in the wrong place. I am a noob and definately a user. I haven't been rooting and flashing phones long when I came across my hd2. This was a huge jump from my Huawei. I was so happy when I figured out how to :D root and flash andriod onto it. I was able to do this because of the experience and generousity of developers on sites like this. I sincerely thank all of you. I especially want to thank Tytung for this ROM I think it is great to be running an up to date rom on this phone. I have used the ROM since v4.5 and love it. Thank you, sir.

That's indeed the best Card now for a HD2. I too had always problems with UHS cards (freezes, bsod) Since i changed to this card, my problems were solved 99%. Getting non Uhs cards is really hard (here in Germany) You won't find a 64GB non uhs card, And getting a fast 32Gb non uhs card will probably get more difficult in future.

The thing to remember is that all Class 10+ cards (UHS, anything entitled "Extreme" or "Ultra", etc.) are designed and optimized for photography devices, specifically DSLR cameras that shoot in RAW mode, where writing the camera's picture buffer out to the card in the fastest possible time is the critical objective. This is the sole reason for their existence, but ironically, since the mobile device explosion, many people are unwittingly buying these cards for all the wrong purposes (heavy marketing certainly helps!). However, buying these cards for mobile devices like phones and tablets is almost always a waste of money, for numerous reasons. The two most notable reasons are:

1) all but the most cutting-edge generation devices lack the controller instruction set necessary to properly communicate with these cards (specifically UHS), and

2) mobile devices have a completely different usage profile than photography equipment. With a camera, the sustained write speed of large files is the most important metric. With a phone, the card's ability to quickly read and write small files (which represents 90% of a phone's 'disk' I/O) is the most important thing--especially when using the card to support a Native SD or Data on EXT ROM installation.

So if you want to know how well a given SD card is likely to perform in your phone, you should benchmark it with a desktop PC tool like Crystal Disk Mark or Atto Disk Benchmark, and examine what the throughput numbers are for the small files (4K) performance. After you compare a lot of cards, you will notice that top-brand Class 4 and Class 6 (IMHO, Class 6 is the "sweet spot") cards regularly outperform the so-called 'Extreme' high speed cards in this particular ability.
You can also determine and/or confirm this information by running the SD card benchmarks from within Android itself, using apps like AnTuTu Benchmark or the RL SQLite Benchmark.

The bottom line is that unless you are buying them for use in a high-end digital camera, avoid the high speed cards for your HD2. They will usually decrease the performance of your ROM, and the people who think they are boosting performance are experiencing a placebo effect.

For a little bit more information as to what microSD card I think is best for mobile devices like our beloved HTC HD2, and WHY, you can read my post here why-not-use-sd-card-class-10-uhs-1-t240-10.html#p6532.

- HD2 EU 512
- MAGDLR
- 350 MB
- 10 MB Cache
- DataOnExt

Black screen after waiting ~10 minutes on first boot.
Remove battery & power on. It's work fine.
Leave it ~1 hour. Black screen again when push Power button (red button). Hard key are light.
Remove battery & power on.

Anyone got this issue?

Press Dialer (Phone Icon) it show recent call, press DialPad to dial other contact but it blank, not show number for dial. It happen with older version 4.4.x too.

Any advice?

Increase System partition to 400 that's it.

Have you turned off the animator duration in the developer options by chance? If it's set lower than 0.5 the dial pad will misbehave as you describe.

Thanks, I will give it a try! :) I also put a pattern lock on the lock screen now, so it doesn't do strange stuff in my pocket anymore...! :)

I have to say that this is less of an issue with the newer HD2 then it was with the older HD2, for some reason.

The older HD2 seems pretty worn out, maybe that's why the buttons are pushed more easily. Like I mentioned before, strangely enough this older HD2 runs slower now then it used to do a few years ago. I reflashed it to WinMo with TomTom now and us it as a navigation for in my car now. This newly flashed ROM runs considerably slower now than it did 3-4 years ago on this very same device... I read an article once about processors (and I mean the hardware itself) indeed become somewhat slower overtime, so maybe this is happening....

Thanks again for the advice, I will check it out! :)

Grtz to all.

Ps. I am also indeed hoping to see a Android 5 ROM on this device, but I am not sure it is going to happen. And I have to say I am very satisfied with this Tytung v4.7 Rom, so actually we don't necissarily need it. It would just be very cool! 8-)
