Device: HTC HD2 (LEO512)
HSPL: 2.08.HSPL
Radio: Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
Bootloader: MAGLDR v1.13
DataConnection: RMNET

There were some problems using rmnet connection with installing as Nativesd in the past. Tytung recommended using ppp when installing NativeSD. You should try that.

I never had problems with my connection with V2.4 and V2.5. But if the problem persists I'll give PPP a try.
But at the moment (see my last post) GSM is working.

So if i got you right, you're back on 2.6 with working data connection?

Maybe I'll try the wifi workaround before doing a clean install.

EDIT: Clean install solved my Data connection problems.

Edit: Can someone move all of the posts (beginning with olofs post) regarding this Gsm Data topic move to the Q&T thread. Think it's better there. Thanks.

What do you mean? HD2's touchscreen is capacitive.

You're absolutely right. Shame on me. But indeed sometimes i have to press the screen like it's an resistive and it's not always responding correct. That's why in old htc winmo roms one could adjust sensitivity and precision. Could also be a special problem of my screen.

The digitizer on the HD2 is a fairly high failure rate item. Replacements are readily available on eBay for approximately $20 US. I've noticed similar hard-to-press issues on my device. But unless the thing fails completely, I'm just going to live with it. I'd rather use my money for a new phone. The HD2, though a great device, is really starting to show its age.

Indeed! The digitiser on my second HD2 is now 80+% dead.
Pretty soon it'll be time for the video...

Cheers!

It's not that bad. My device had a broken digitizer when I got it and hadn't been used for a couple of years. I was able to resurrect it and I had never repaired such a small and intricate device before. If was able to do it anyone can.

There are several videos on YouTube and a few threads on xda which guide you step by step. It took a couple of hours, but was well worth it. You still can't buy a phone width all of the capabilities of the HD2 for less than a few hundred. Plus if you fix it there is still enough demand that you can easily resell it for well over a hundred.
Current device: HTC Amaze 4G
Bootloader: HTC - Dev unlocked, S-on
Recovery: 4ext - smart flash enabled
ROM: CM-10 - Compiled and customized by me - thanks spostsstar89 - CM - Team Nightmare
Xposed framework - rovo89
GravityBox - C3C076

Previous device: HTC HD2 (TMOUS - LEO1024)
Final ROM: NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.1.3 v2.7 - Tytung
Had more lives than a cat, best handset I ever owned
Lesson: If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
RIP

That is a thought though I figure after 2 of them it is time for a change. Maybe I will try to sell it as is - less money but I just don't have the time to repair them.. Anyone interested in a perfectly good hd2 with a perfectly bad digitizer? ;)

Cheers!

I didn't remember that I ever recommended PPP.
I always install NativeSD on MAGLDR and use RMNET.
I don't get any connection issue when using RMNET or switching between WiFi and 3G/HSDPA.

HD2's radio is designed for RMNET, so it's native and more stable than PPP.
When using PPP, we use a wrapper library, libhtc_ril_wrapper.so.
The stability of PPP depends on how your mobile carrier processes your data connection.
As a result, some PPP users may get the fast data connection while others may encounter the data drop issue.
Paste your logcat to GitHub Gist or any similar websites, and link it in your post if you need any help. (Don't forget to tell us your HD2 setup/configuration.)
