If you upgrade your HD2 from v2.6, you will lose your phone app.
But don't worry. There's a solution as follows.

“My phone app is uninstalled?“

Don’t panic, we didn’t remove the phone from your…well, phone. It simply changed names in Android 4.3, rendering old shortcuts broken. If you need to know how to add it back, hit the link.

That's one of the upgrading troubles that I knew.
So it's strongly recommended to do a fresh install.
