I knew that I would receive this answer. But trust me, I've tried Poweramp before and it's a complete crap compared to the in-built player with its in-built equalizer in Energy's rom. I know what I am saying. It's strange how people prefer to use some paid and completely unnecessary solutions since they already have better ones, already in-built in their systems.

I've no more low soud experience with bluetooth, that's cool ! I need it every time I take my car. ;)
However, I have got a black screen with an incoming call, when my phone was pluged into my pc (without sd mounted), I had to press a button to wakeup the screen.
I didn't set up any "perfomance options", I have 245-998Mhz smartassV2, CFQ, no KSM, no Zram. I used them before (on v2.2) but my phone works better without... :?

I experiment also some reboots only when I have a bad network coverage (2 bars or less) and freezes only in my car, when I use the gps (Icoyote) with the sd mounted on usb (mass storage).

And I've noticed a curious comportment when I activate the mass storage with Icoyote or Maps (naviagtion) running, both apps seem restart ! Maps re-calculates the route and Icoyote restarts.
I've no remember of this when I used the sys@NAND install.

Thanks for trying to answer me.

I add that the "recent app list / preview" bug/glitch (long home button press) is still present !

Thanks for confirming the Bluetooth low sound was fixed. I didn't use Bluetooth, so I didn't test it before.

We don't have a black screen fix yet. But it's not a big issue because it rarely happens (at least for me) and we can press any button (except hangup calls) to wakeup the screen.

Regarding the reboot issue, I guess it's caused by "hot" when you plugged your HD2 in your car for charging and used the GPS app which needs to keep the screen on.
Note that it's summer now. Hot weather.

Yes, it seems HD2 still has some little graphic issues on JB 4.2.2.
As I said before, CM10.1 and CM10.0 are totally different.
The CM team seems to start from scratch created CM10.1 and then added existing CM10.0's patches into 10.1.
Maybe some patches were missing.
Anyway, just use the static wallpaper.

Thanks for your answers.
However my phone is installed in front of a cooled air nozzle...
I thought it was related to T° too but it never exceeded the 40°
I don't remember the T° of throttling and that of reboot, I've read it before but... (40 and 50 ???)
It's only freezes happend in my car (and one time when I used the GPS for less than a minute), reboots are less frequent since I've made a fresh install and don't touch performance options.
Are you using KSM and/or Zram and have no issue Tytung ?
But as I said, a bad network coverage increase the risk of reboot. Maybe no enought power for CPU ?

I never touch performance options, so I don't use KSM and Zram.
My HD2 just loses the signal in a bad network coverage area, and doesn't reboot itself.

Any chance of memory running down near zero (due to maps, GPS, etc)? Android does not like to run out of memory. It will usually seem to "freeze" for a little while (trying to free memory) and eventually reboots itself (if memory release is unsuccessful).

Often wrong. Never in doubt.

Cheers!

Question about lag

Postby agbommarito » Wed Jul 03, 2013 7:37 pm

From NYLimited at XDA --

There are many factors which create lag in an Android device but the number 1 biggest factor is working memory (RAM) where your apps get loaded,

This is why running many apps at the same time or running very large apps (e.g. Google Maps) will make the phone lag afterwards. The large app will use up all the available memory and even though you return to the main "desktop" the app is not completely closed or removed from memory.

Starting another app will require Android to completely flush one or more no longer used apps from RAM and load the new one - now you have lag.

The HD2's NAND speed is also pretty slow (roughly equal to a Class 4 SD Card) so even loading a new app can take time.

What can you do about it? Well, you cannot eliminate lag 100% because the HD2 has limited amount of RAM. The only way to totally eliminate lag is to get another device with 2 GB of RAM. Having said that there are things you can do to make lag manageable most of the time.

First and foremost is controlling how Android makes available RAM. This is accomplished via the MIN FREE settings. Tytung includes default settings for min free via a script which is located in the /system/etc/init.d folder (99_lowmemorykiller). If this file is removed (deleted) you can set your own min free values via many apps, such as ROM Toolbox. Using an aggressive setting will make Android react faster and keep more free memory more often, thus some of the lag is eliminated.

I've been doing what you suggest for a while (ie running more aggressive MIN FREE settings). Yet I noticed in comparing the 99_lowmemorykiller file from v2.2 to the one in v2.3, the default settings have been changed to a less aggressive setting. In v2.2, the default setting was size: 8M 12M 20M 60M 80M 100M, and in v2.3 the default setting is size: 8M 12M 20M 50M 70M 90M.

I wonder why?
